RUNNER | TEAM IRELAND | 400m & 800m
Claire is a 400/800 track athlete from Dublin, Ireland. Her 400m and 800m PBs are in the Irish All-Time top 10 for both indoor and outdoor.
Claire lived and attended college in New York, where she spent 5 years on a Track and Field scholarship at St. John’s University in Queens, studying Pharmaceutical Science. While stateside she won multiple Big East Conference titles in 400, 500m and 4x400m relays and ECAC Conference titles in 500m and 4x400m. She also competed at the NCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championships in 2013 as part of the 4x400m relay team earning All-America Honours, and also again in 2018 in the 800m where she earned Second- Team All American for a 15th place finish.
Back home, Claire won the 400m National Outdoor title in 2018. She has represented Ireland at two European Senior Outdoor Championships in 2016 and 2018 and a European Team Senior Championships in 2017.
Claire’s PBs are 53.17 for 400m, 2.01.61 for 800m outdoors, and 24.89 for 200m, 53.53 for 400m, 1.10.90 for 500m and 2.03.56 for 800m indoors. She currently trains under the watchful eye of Coach Joe Ryan with a group of talented male and female athletes. Going forward she will focus on the 800m event and hopes to dip under the 2-minute barrier in the coming seasons. Her sporting goal for 2020 is to enjoy competing and make an Irish international team and of course her ultimate goal is to become an Olympian!
Claire just completed a Master’s in international business at the UCD Michael Smurfit Business School and currently works part-time at the Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association, where she hopes to complete her internship.
Off the track, Claire has a personal Goal to learn French, and her top favourite brands are are Avonmore Protein Milk, Joma clothing, ASICS shoes and clothing, Kinetica products and Revive active supplements.
