CYCLING | TEAM IRELAND
Eve McCrystal is from Dundalk, is a member of An Garda Síochana (Irish police officer), has two daughters and in addition to her successes with Katie-George also competed as an individual cyclist in 2018 Women’s Elite Road Race Champion.
Eve is part of a dynamic duo with Katie-George Dunlevy that has certainly become a force to be reckoned with on the para-cycling scene. Together since 2013, the pair have been winning medals and setting new Personal Best times with each competition they enter and have certainly been flying the Irish tricolour high. Eve and Katie-George had major success at the 2016 Rio Paralympics where they took home a gold medal becoming Time Trial Champions over 30km and also won a silver medal in road race.
Building on that performance they competed in the Road World Champions in South Africa in 2017 and won gold in both the time trial and the road race making them double world champions. They went on to repeat that feat in 2018 in the Road World Champions in Italy where they won gold in both the time trail and road race again! As World Champions and Paralympic Champions they intend to compete at Tokyo 2020 and to defend their position successfully.
