SKIER | ALPINE RACER | TEAM IRELAND
Giorgia was born in the Italian Alps to an Austrian mum and an Irish dad so you could say becoming an Irish Alpine skier competing in major international sports events was like a duck taking to water. She started ski training when in primary school at her local ski club, WSV Ramsau am Dachstein, and her ski racing ability has improved steadily year on year.
In winter 2017/18, Giorgia was selected to represent Ireland at the Trofeu Borrufa, Andorra. Racing at this international event and winning her local school championships in Austria motivated her to take her training to the next level which is an intense programme. Her short-term ambition is to compete in international FIS races appropriate for her age group in the winter season and her selection to again represent Ireland at the Trofeu Borrufa for 2018/2019 has her on this road already.
Further out, Giorgia aims to qualify and compete in the YOG 2020 and the EYOF 2021. Her coach, who has worked with World Cup athletes believes that she has what it takes to become a champion.
