RUGBY | OLD BELVEDERE & IRELAND
Hannah Tyrell has been a consistent part of both the Ireland Women’s 7’s and XVs Rugby teams since 2014. She has 52 Caps for Ireland between 7s and 15s, represented Ireland at the 2017 15s World Cup and the 2018 7s World Cup, and in the Six Nations in 2015.
Hannah is also a former Dublin GAA footballer and All-Ireland winner. She was part of the 2015 Women’s 6 Nations championship winning squad and regularly features on the World Rugby Sevens Series. She competed in the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup squad, playing every minute during Ireland’s campaign, and was featured in the rugby 7s World Cup squad in San Francisco in 2018.
Hannah is kept busy, currently studying for her Professional master’s in education in UCD while also playing Rugby for Old Belvedere, Dublin!
Aside from Sport, she is a proud ambassador for Pieta House and the ‘Tackle Your Feelings’ campaign in conjunction with Rugby Players Ireland. In May 2017, she received the Contribution to Irish Society award at the 2017 Rugby Players Ireland Awards for her work in mental health awareness.
The next goal for Hannah is to Qualify for the 2021 Rugby World Cup.
