CANOEIST | TEAM IRELAND | MARATHON & SPRINT
Jenny established herself in the highly demanding and competitive sport of canoeing when she claimed Ireland’s first ever medal at the Senior European Canoe Sprint Championship with bronze in the K1 5,000M event in 2015.
Jenny first raced competitively when she was 8 years old and since then has been competing with conviction.
2017 garnered a bronze medal at the Senior World Marathon Championships in South Africa (the first medal at this level for Ireland since 1988), a gold medal at K1 5,000M in Portugal and a bronze medal at the World Cup meet in Serbia. In 2018 Jenny delivered Ireland’s first ever medal at the Senior World Canoe Sprint Championship with a bronze in the K1 5,000M.
Closer to home, Jenny is also the reigning Mixed K2 Champion of the Liffey descent where she was partnered by her brother Peter. The Tokyo Olympics is a goal and on her current form qualification is certainly within reach.
