FORMER ARGENTINA & PREMIERSHIP FOOTBALL PLAYER | FOOTBALL MANAGER | TV PUNDIT
An Argentinian by birth but also a legend within the English game of football, Ossie Ardiles is a World Cup winner who speaks with passion and panache at a wide range of events, as well as being a popular figure on TV and fine sports personality who adds real quality to a range of functions, charity dinners and conferences. It was in 1978 that Ossie won the World Cup winner with Argentina, and he was capped 42 times for his country. At the same time, he became a north London hero when joining Tottenham in England, with whom he won two FA cup medals before sadly having to leave when the Falklands War started.
After leaving playing the game behind he took up management at Swindon Town in 1989 and had spells at Newcastle United and West Brom before being handed the job he really wanted in June 1993 with Tottenham. Things started well, and he even signed the famous German Jurgen Klinsmann and the ‘famous five’ attack-minded players. Sadly, that attacking football proved Ardiles’ downfall as goals were shipped at the other end. Ossie has also managed various clubs since Tottenham and is now in charge of Tokyo Verdy 69 in Japan. A much-loved figure who excites all football fans, Ossie is a popular guest speaker, pundit and event host.
