Sinead Lohan is a tennis player from Co. Waterford, Ireland. To date she has won two ITF singles titles. Playing tennis from an early age, she was a member of the Irish Women’s Federation Cup Tennis team 2011 – 2013, making her debut at only 16 years of age. She went on to compete in the ITF Junior Circuit, reaching a world ranking of 160 and winning tournaments in Latvia, Netherlands and Ireland. She was a winner of National titles at Under 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 age groups, becoming the only player in the history of Irish tennis to win the National Championships at all 5 age groups!
Attending college in the US as a recipient of the ACC Postgraduate Scholarship, she majored in Economics in the University of Miami. She graduated in 2018 following a 4-year program playing no 1 / 2 on College Tennis Team (NCAA Division 1). This accomplishment came from merging high achievement in academics with playing tennis at the highest level in the US College System and required extensive travel across the United States.
Sinead is a proven high performer and her time in the US saw her achieving a Career High Ranking of No 6 in Ladies’ rankings in US College System, a Semi-finalist in NCAA Championships and Finalist of the All-American Tournament in LA. She had 130 singles wins – fourth highest in University of Miami history. She was also the recipient of the Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award. As a member of University of Miami Ladies’ Tennis Team, she was selected Captain in recognition of her excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Now back on Irish soil and currently working as a Tennis Coach, this dynamic and talented young player has an exciting career ahead of her.
